Strictly Come Dancing fans cringe over 'cruel' Tess Daly moment after contestant jibe

Viewers tuning into on Saturday night were left cringing over an awkward moment with host Tess Daly.

The presenter hadn't heard the negative feedback judge Craig Revel Horwood had made about one celebrity contestant, so asked him to repeat it. Fans had found it brutal the first time around, so for Tess to get Craig to say it again seconds later in front of the star in question left viewers cringing.

They called the moment "cruel" as Tess was then taken aback once she realised what had been said. Punam Krishan and Gorka Márquez had just performed, with Head Judge pointing out a mistake.

As the judges gave their feedback there was plenty of advice, but they all agreed they loved the contestant. But when it got to Craig's go, he did not hold back.

Anton Du Beke told the pair he "liked it", but Craig was not keen. He told them: "I thought it was really sloppy, messy and full of mistakes. It was not your night I'm afraid."

Tess looked a bit confused as the crowd began to share their disapproval of what he'd said to Punam. Tess commented: "Sorry Craig... I missed what you said at the end there Craig, sorry."

As some of the stars looked awkwardly at Tess knowing what was coming, Craig too appeared awkward at having to repeat it. He said: "Not your night I'm afraid my darling."

Realising what had been said, Tess quickly replied: "I rather wish I hadn't heard it... but I think we all loved it ladies and gentleman, didn't we? We really enjoyed it."

Viewers watching the moment were left cringing, asking why Tess had the comment repeated. One fan posted: "Why did Tess not hear Craig and then ask what he said? That was . You’re the presenter!!"

Another fan said: "Not Tess getting Craig to repeat 'Not your night' twice." A third fan wrote: "Tess making Craig say Punam did bad TWICE, oh that's just CRUEL."

A fourth viewer joked: "The evil Tess making Craig repeat the most scathing review the show has ever heard in its existence." A fifth fan wrote: "Tess nobody cares that you didn’t hear it why’d you have to make him say it again," as another commented: "Now why the f**k did Tess make him repeat that…?"

This wasn't Craig's only negative feedback of the night though. His comments to Shayne Ward left him being booed by the live audience, with him calling them out.
