Soap fans can expect some dramatic twists and turns in upcoming episodes of , and .

Next week there's worrying discoveries, a health scare, a proposal and a double exit - and that isn't all. More than one soap favourite will take centre stage in huge scenes, with a death teased too.

by one medic, before they're forced to play the hero once more in a worrying and deadly incident at the surgery. As for Coronation Street there's some possible happy news with a proposal.

But the characters involved are also at the centre of that will lead to the exit of one character. Over on EastEnders, and it's a sad time in Walford as Martin Fowler's funeral arrives weeks on from his tragic death.

But amid thisfrom the show after some troubling times in Walford. Here's the biggest plots happening next week.

Coronation Street sad news and a proposal

The big storyline of next week for Corrie is the heartbreaking news for Debbie Webster at a life-changing doctors appointment. After suffering a handful of worrying incidents including a recent fall and confusion, as well as misplacing her possessions, she makes a call to a doctor.

Viewers will see flashbacks to each incident she refers to, before she's left concerned to be told she may have suffered a mini stroke and that the doctor wants to refer her for some more tests for vascular dementia. Debbie is reeling and is unsure what to say to her partner Ronnie Bailey, and throws herself into work.

Later in the week as Debbie continues to reel from her possible diagnosis she's left confused by a text message from her sister-in-law Abi Franklin. Another incident sparks further turmoil for her, but their could be some joy for her amidst her fears as Ronnie arrives and proposes to Debbie - but will she say yes?

EastEnders double exit

Walford gathers for Martin Fowler's funeral next week, and it will lead to two characters leaving. There's anger for Martin's partner Ruby Allen, who remains resentful towards love rival Stacey Slater after the funeral and things bubble over.

As a confrontation takes place theres a revelation that could destroy any hope of peace between them. Soon Lily is hitting the bottle and when Stacey tries to make amends things turn sour.

But residents are left reeling when Martin's famous and beloved market stall is set on fire. Stacey is determined to find out who is responsible, and as Jack Branning warns her to leave it to the police she believes she knows the culprit.

But as the confronts them will she be wrong? Not long after, Ruby decides enough is enough and announces she and son Roman will be leaving Walford for good.

Finding things with Stacey too much, and soon Stacey goes to speak with her only to be told she's already left. Actress has confirmed she has finished filming.

Emmerdale death teased

There's a death hint next week, with medic John Sugden forced to take action amid rumours he's a serial killer. Doctor trainee Jacob Gallagher is at the GP surgery in the village when he suffers an allergic reaction.

Prior to this, medic John causes alarm at work when he's distracted and accidentally misdiagnoses Kerry Wyatt. Liam Cavanagh calls him out over recent mistakes and decides to conduct a review, leaving John nervous and confiding in his sister Victoria Sugden.

But when Jacob, who suffers with a nut allergy, takes a sip of the wrong coffee he goes into anaphylactic shock, and panics to find his AAI pen is missing. He falls unconscious, and it's on John to jump into action to save him - but can he help him?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
