Micah Richards has sent out a cheeky warning to Liverpool's , insisting the Egyptian king needs to up his game this season. The pundit is counting on Salah, who he dubs as Arne Slot's talisman, to boost his Fantasy Premier League prospects by May.

Despite Salah's impressive tally of 11 goal involvements (six goals, five assists) in just nine appearances, with many at Anfield feeling Salah has already contributed significantly to Liverpool's campaign.

Alan Shearer didn't hold back in lauding Salah for his lethal edge when cutting in from the right flank, likening him to Arsenal's starlet Bukayo Saka. Meanwhile, Gary Lineker hinted that ' lukewarm feelings towards the Reds' ace might stem from a personal letdown after Salah failed to score post his fantasy team draft.

  • Richards couldn't hide his frustration on The Rest Is Football podcast, exclaiming, "Spoiled my whole day," and making a direct plea: "Mo, if you're listening - you are £12.5million on Fantasy Football.

"No disrespect, [but] if you're that price, I need a goal or assist every single week. I'm not asking for hat-tricks! I'm just asking for a little bit of something. Just a little something!"

Even with a solid record of four assists and four goals in six league games, Richards remains unsatisfied, expecting more from his high-value pick.

In a rare blip this campaign, the only match where Salah didn't leave his mark with a goal or an assist was Liverpool's unexpected stumble against Nottingham Forest in September. It seems Richards might have jinxed Salah by picking him at just the wrong time - though the Egyptian king has rediscovered his scoring touch since.

Newcastle's own hero, Shearer, couldn't resist a chuckle, suggesting that Richards' words could be the extra push Salah needs to up his game even further. He quipped: "I bet he's thinking, 'I've gotta do it for Big Meeks. I've gotta do it! '".

Salah played a pivotal role in Liverpool's midweek triumph, contributing to both goals in their 2-0 Champions League victory over Bologna. With Slot's squad heading to Crystal Palace this Saturday, Salah will be eager to keep influencing Liverpool's fortunes.

As we head into Week 7, Liverpool sits atop the Premier League table, edging ahead by a single point. And you can bet Richards is rooting for Salah to play a big part in maintaining their lead.
