Married at First Sight bride sobs after discovering shock truth about groom on wedding day

Send Push

A bride on Married at First Sight UK is seen in tears on her wedding day after being given some information about her groom by her mother, despite his plea for it be kept secret.

The new series of the E4 show launches this week with fans set to see the latest pairs exchange vows after meeting for the first time at the altar. Among those taking part are dog walker Kristina Goodsell, 31, from East Sussex, and mechanic Kieran Chapman, 28, from Newcastle, who get paired up.

Kristina appears upset on their wedding day after she hears of Kieran's living arrangements from her mother Karen. She discovers that the groom lives on his own in a static caravan in a woodland, which leads to an emotional moment.

A teaser clip, shared by the Daily Mail ahead of the first episode, shows Kieran facing questions from his mother-in-law, including over his accommodation. She's heard asking if he lives with his parents, to which he replies that he lives on his own, before clarifying that he has his "own place".

Karen continues by asking if he lives in a house, a flat or a bedsit. Addressing the question, Kieran says: "Don't tell her that I've told you this, please, because I want to try and keep it a bit of a secret not because …" He then shares: "I live in a static caravan in the middle of a woodland."

Speaking in a confessional, he reveals that he isn't sure what Kristina will think when she finds out. He adds that there aren't "many lasses out there" that would "actually love" to live in the middle of the woods in a caravan. Kieran says in the clip that "a lot of them" think that it's "creepy".

His mother-in-law reacts to his living arrangement by saying "oh my goodness". She then asks if there are other people living in the area, to which Kieran tells her that it's just him. Reflecting on the news, Karen says: "Everyone's different, aren't they?"

Kieran shares in a confessional that he's "really nervous" about Kristina finding out that he lives in a caravan, with him expressing concern that she "might hate it". The teaser then shows Karen sharing the news with Kristina later on the wedding day. The bride doesn't seem impressed and questions if he "actually" does live in a caravan. She's then seen emotional as she appears to cry into the palm of her hands.

Married at First Sight UK returns on E4 from 9pm on Monday night.
