Emile Heskey is confident that will extend his stay at , describing it as "continuing his fairytale". The about new deals for and , stating: "It's just a matter of time before they all sign new deals."

With the trio eligible to discuss pre-contract agreements with non-English clubs from January 1, there's a sense of urgency among fans who are eager to see their stars commit their futures to the club. Despite , Heskey, a six-trophy winner with Liverpool, believes the vice-captain will remain loyal to his boyhood team.

Speaking to , Heskey said: "I think that Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk should all be offered new deals. I'd expect Trent to sign a new one. Being a local lad, knowing what it means to play for the club and lift major trophies for the club that you've come up through the youth ranks for, that is a pretty powerful thing for a footballer."

He further added: "Trent has won it all with his boyhood club. He knows that he can fulfill all of his ambitions as a player at Liverpool. I hope that he continues his Liverpool fairytale, and I think that he will by signing a new contract.

"With Mo Salah, I think it all depends on what type of contract he's looking for. Whatever his demands are, I'm guessing that they can be facilitated. The reality is, if Liverpool wanted to move him on or were happy to move him on, they would have sold him last season when they had absolutely massive offers for him from Saudi Arabia.

"I think there is a deal that can be structured for Salah that everyone can be happy with. I feel the same way about Virgil van Dijk. Both players seem to be very happy at the club and with the direction that everything is moving in. I think it's just a matter of time before they all sign new deals."

So far, Liverpool has won nine out of the 10 matches that it has faced since departed. And Heskey has been impressed with the new regime.

He added: "I've been very surprised at how quickly has adapted to life managing Liverpool. Being a realist and being a fan, I wondered what Slot was going to bring to the table. He didn't arrive at Liverpool with a huge pedigree, but Liverpool fans were always going to give him a chance to show them what he could do.

"He's brought a different brand of football, which everyone seems to enjoy. Hats off to him for doing that and bringing his own philosophy and way of playing because it would have been very easy for Slot to try and replicate the brand of football that brought Jurgen Klopp so much success at Liverpool.

"Hats off to the players as well. It's difficult to adjust to a new way of playing and new methods when you've been working with the same man and the same voice for nine seasons it can take time to adjust but that hasn't been the case at all.

"Slot came in, and you could tell that he had done his homework on the club, the city, and the fans. He speaks the language of Liverpool and has endeared himself to the fans in a very short space of time. He deserves credit for that."

Liverpool.com says: Getting all three players tied down to new contracts would be a very sensible idea, though it won't be easy at this point in the season. Losing any of them for nothing would be a major blow.
