The Lincoln Lawyer is back for its third season, with all the main stars, including actress Neve Campbell, returning for more courtroom drama.

The third instalment of the popular legal drama premiered last month, ending on an unexpected cliffhanger that could land Mickey Haller (portrayed by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) in hot water.

While a fourth series hasn't been confirmed yet, fans are hopeful for more episodes given the show's cliffhanger ending.

For now, viewers are focusing their attention on The Lincoln Lawyer cast, particularly on the life of Maggie actress Neve Campbell.

Early Life

Born in Guelph, Ontario, in October 1973, Campbell is the daughter of a Scottish drama teacher and a Dutch yoga instructor and psychologist.

Her parents divorced when she was just two years old, and she grew up with her older brother Christian in Mississauga, Ontario, living with their father.

With her paternal grandparents running a theatre company and her maternal grandparents being performers, it wasn't much of a surprise when she was accepted into the National Ballet School of Canada at the age of nine.

Injuries

Campbell initially aimed for a career in ballet, but this became increasingly challenging due to hip problems that affected her knees, back and more.

At the tender age of 14, the actress made the tough decision to step away from the National Ballet of Canada, a move driven by personal hurdles encountered at such a young age.

Revealing her struggles to People, Campbell said: "I had just been having some mental challenges, just difficult to find the balance between wanting a childhood and following this dream.

"I had had already quite a bit of injury. From nine-years-old, at the National Ballet School, I was in physiotherapy weekly."

Stalking

In her career beyond ballet, Campbell boasts a diverse array of roles, featuring in hit shows like House Of Cards, Catwalk, Party Of Five, Grey's Anatomy, The Philanthropist and Manhattan.

Yet, she is perhaps indelibly known for her portrayal of Sidney Prescott in the bloodcurdling Scream series, which kicked off in 1996 and became a defining feature of her career.

Despite the acclaim, her role in the gruesome Scream saga would have an unsettling downside, as it led to Campbell being dogged by stalkers, turning her real-life fears into material for her on-screen performances.

Reflecting on these harrowing experiences with Entertainment Weekly in 2000, Campbell disclosed: "I have several people who write me letters nonstop, and I've had threats.

"I feel sad for people who make it their motive in life to stalk someone, and they're obviously obsessive and disturbed and don't have a life of their own, but it's also terrifying for us.

She added the ominous details of her first encounter with the dangers of fame: "It was a very strange experience the first time it happened to me, to be in my house and fearing that this person will find me.

"I feel like I never made the choice to be famous, but I did make the choice to entertain people, and that's a pretty loving thing, and out of that comes people who want to harm you."

Marriages and relationships

The star of 'The Lincoln Lawyer' first tied the knot with Jeff Colt in 1995, but the marriage ended in 1998.

She then found love again with actor John Light after meeting him on the set of 'Investigating Sex' in 2005 and got married a couple of years later.

Light, known for his roles in 'WPC 56', 'Inspector Lewis', 'Mars', 'Father Brown', and most recently the drama 'Showtrial' as Adrian Gilligan, saw his marriage to the actress dissolve by 2010.

However, romance was not off the cards for her, as she began a relationship with 'Lost In Space' and 'The Peripheral' actor JJ Feild in 2011.

The couple has two sons: Caspian, born in August 2012, and Raynor, whom they adopted in 2018. The family of four now resides in a lavish Los Angeles mansion, valued at a cool $2.8 million, which became their home four years ago.

The Lincoln Lawyer is available to watch on Netflix.
