TV and radio star Kate Lawler has been left angered at the price of a loaf in London after paying almost £9 for 12 slices. The 44-year-old ex-Big Brother star blasted the cost of her sourdough in an Instagram rant saying the baker should have had a black and white striped jumper and an eye mask.

Fans urged her to go to Aldi instead as she fumed: “What in Paul Hollywood’s name Is going on in London? I’ve just paid £8.82 for a loaf of sourdough. Eight pounds and eighty-two pence for one loaf of bread.

“Let me show you. It smells lovely and I appreciate that sourdough takes a long time to bake. Yeah, it’s a big old loaf. But 12 slices of bread for £8.82.
