Jeremy Clarkson sparks serious health concerns as fans spot worrying detail in new video

TV presenter has sparked concern among fans after he was seen with a "suspicious looking" dressing on his wrist while promoting his new book on social media.

The former host, 64, could be seen with what appeared to be an injury as he talked about book recommendations following his trip overseas with partner , 52.

Jeremy gave a quick overview of a few novels, including Annihilation by Michel Houellebecq and Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. But it quickly emerged that his book reviews were simply a way to segue into his own book, Diddly Squat: Home to Roost, which is set for release on October 24.

But although Jeremy was gesturing to his books with the dressing in clear view of the camera, he didn't mention it. Fans spotted it immediately though, and got on to the TV presenter in the comments. One concerned fan wrote: "How’d you hurt your wrist Jezza?" Another thought there was something fishy going on, questioning: "What happened to you hand? That's a suspicious looking bandage."

A third social media user decided to play detective, pondering: "Wrist injury is worrying, tanline on his other wrist too…" One cynical genius reckons the whole thing was a publicity stunt, typing: "Now the rumours will start from that strategically placed plaster… this fella knows how to play the PR game." But an exasperated fan just pleaded: "We all need to know what's happened to your wrist man!!!"

Elsewhere, Clarkson shocked fans when he joked about drink-driving while filming the final episode of The Grand Tour in Zimbabwe. The TV presenter was speaking during a Q&A session following a screening of the episode, released on Amazon Prime earlier this month, which sees him and co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May downing beer and spirits while sailing boats, loaded with their vehicles, over Zimbabwe's Lake Kariba.

Clarkson, 64, told the event: "Hopefully nobody will notice that at the end of that lake crossing all of that drink had gone." When a woman in the audience called out 'no, we did notice!', Clarkson replied: "You did notice... did you then notice we set off driving the next day? Well I'm duty-bound to tell you there was a three-day gap between arriving and setting off - but there wasn't."

He was commenting on a section of the new film, called One for the Road, which saw the presenters taking to a boat containing a homemade bar full of booze, including lager, gin, whiskey and vodka. In the programme Hammond is seen describing the boat as "a floating drinks cabinet" and telling Clarkson: "You've bought a bar!". After setting off on the journey, Clarkson declares: "HMS s***-faced is underway!". He is later seen opening a beer while telling viewers: "Right, seat checks complete, there's only one thing I can think to do."
