Greggs is trialling out two new hot pasta dishes in one part of the country - and fans already can’t wait to try them.
The pasta boxes come in two flavours - mac and cheese and meatball pasta bake - and cost £5.75 as part of a meal deal with a drink. However, they’re currently only available as part of a trial period in select shops across the North West of England. It isn't clear yet if they could be introduced nationwide if they prove to be a hit.
The new items were posted to the group, with the following caption: “Seen in Manchester not sure if they do them in other areas.” Other Greggs fans were posting of their excitement to try the new pasta dishes. One person commented: “Oh my what a game changer.” Another said: “They must of listened to us.” A third posted: “Gonna be your new obsession.” A fourt said: “Lunch has been stepped up.”
A Greggs spokesperson told The Sun: “We’re always listening to what our customers want us to offer and adapting based on their tastes and habits, which is why we’re trialling two new hot pasta boxes. The Macaroni Cheese and Meatball Pasta will be available in selected shops across the Northwest.”

It comes after Greggs revealed its Festive Bake is returning today (November 7). If you've never tried one, the Festive Bake is a crumb topped pastry that is filled with pieces of cooked chicken, sage and onion stuffing and bacon, covered in a creamy sage and cranberry sauce.
The Vegan Festive Bake - which contains Quorn pieces - is also back, following a year hiatus. It will be launched in Greggs stores on Friday (November 8) a day after the non-vegan version. The Christmas Lunch Baguette is also making a return and is made up of chicken breast slices and sage and onion stuffing, a dash of onion gravy, bacon, cheese, and is finished with a cranberry and onion relish.
There is also a new Festive Flatbread which has a soft and warm flatbread stuffed with sage and onion style chicken mayo, bacon and a cranberry and red onion relish. In terms of sweet treats, Greggs is also launching a brand new Toffee Fudge Muffin and bringing back its Chocolate and Hazelnut Flavour Doughnut.
Greggs has partnered with culinary icon Nigella Lawson to launch its first-ever . In the 40-second clip, Nigella notes that is her “favourite time of year” before tucking into a tantalising Festive Bake. Nigella said: "As a long-time fan of Greggs, and especially their Sausage Rolls, I’m thrilled to be collaborating with them to celebrate the return of the iconic Christmas menu. Greggs brings joy wherever and whenever you choose to enjoy it, and I’m delighted to be sharing this with the nation this Christmas."
