EastEnders fans 'work out' why Barney's mum really left as dark secret 'exposed'

Thursday's episode of dropped a huge bombshell about the true whereabouts of Teddy Mitchell's ex Nicola.

She hasn't been on the show yet, set to arrive soon following the family's debut earlier this year. Teddy has been hiding from something or someone it seems, keen to move his sons Harry and Barney to Walford for a fresh start.

Soon it emerged they were hiding something about their past, something they needed to move on from. It was also claimed someone was looking for them, before we learned Nicola wasn't in the picture.

But after Teddy had claimed his ex had run off to Bali and abandoned her boys, a big secret was exposed in the latest episode. Barney was struggling with recent events and made contact with his mother, wanting to see her.

On Thursday we saw him admit this to Harry, revealing he was planning to meet with their mother. Harry seemed nervous about this and told him to cancel the plan, suggesting they were both better off without their mum.

Barney commented that Nicola was back from Bali, before he claimed their mother only walked out on the family because of Teddy and their split. Harry told his younger brother to forget about their mum and not to see her.

It was clear Harry was hiding something and the truth came out when Barney was revealed to have fled to stay with his mum. Teddy found a note and Harry was forced to confess the earlier chat.

When Teddy asked why they were even talking about Nicola, clearly keen for Barney not to see her, Harry said: "He called her. He still thinks she has been in Bali this whole time."

Teddy was alarmed and said: "Now he's gonna find out the truth." So where has Nicola really been all this time and why did she leave her sons? Why did the pair make up the Bali story, and what are they all covering up?

It seems a big secret is about to come out, and some viewers think they already know what it is. Taking to social media, some fans believed it all tied into Harry's missing ex and her possible murder.

One viewer posted: "What has Teddy done to his wife and why did he lie to Barns about her going to Bali? Also why do I have a feeling it somehow ties to Harry's girlfriend going missing?"

As one fan speculated his mum "killed Harry's ex", another speculated: "Also curious about Harry and Barney's mum, Harry and Teddy told Barney she was in Bali but she wasn't and they hid the truth from him, was she in prison or something I wonder? Or something to do with Harry's ex going missing?"
