Dave Grohl's ex defends Foo Fighters rocker amid love child bombshell revelation

An ex-partner of Dave Grohl has shared her support for the Foo Fighters member following the announcement this week that he's fathered a child outside of his marriage.

Dave, 55 - who's the lead singer of the rock band - made the admission on Tuesday. He told his fans on Instagram that he's now hoping to regain the trust of his wife Jordyn Blum, 48, with whom he shares his eldest three children.

Following the news, Jennifer Finch, 58 - whom Dave had a relationship with in the early 1990s - has spoken out in support of her ex-partner. L7 bassist Jennifer, who dated guitarist Dave when he was a member of Nirvana, shared her thoughts on his announcement to TMZ this week.

According to the outlet, Jennifer's stepped up to "defend" Dave, having describing him as a "top-tier dad and friend". It's claimed that she has recent experience of his "family dynamic" after having toured with the Foo Fighters over the summer. TMZ further reports that Jennifer has assured that singer Dave's doing "everything he can for his family" and "giving it his all" in spite of the circumstances.

The support comes just days after Dave announced that he's fathered a daughter outside of his marriage to Jordyn, whom he's been married to since 2003. He shared the news in a statement to fans on social media on Tuesday. The musician, who has more than a million followers on Instagram, hasn't allowed comments on the post. His fans however expressed their surprise on X, formerly known as Twitter, in the wake of the statement earlier this week.

The statement read: "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness." Dave concluded by sharing: "We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together."

Dave has been married to former model and TV producer Jordyn for more than two decades. Dave and Jordyn, who are said to have first met in 2001, two years prior to their nuptials, have since welcomed three kids together. The couple are parents to Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
