presenter Naga Munchetty playfully warned her co-host Ben Thompson "you are in trouble now" after he made a lighthearted jab at Carol Kirkwood's weather forecast.
Naga and Ben were back on air on Thursday morning, presenting the latest news headlines, including the passing of star Liam Payne. When they handed over to Carol for the weather update, Ben couldn't resist teasing her about the gloomy forecast.
Ben quipped: "That is anything but special Carol. Thank you. I know you sometimes have to be the bearer of bad news but that's all a bit rubbish isn't it? " Naga chimed in: "Not Carol, just the weather".
Carol shot back: "Don't sit on the fence Ben, for goodness' sake!". Naga then cautioned Ben: "You are in trouble now", prompting him to sheepishly reply: "Always."

This exchange came a day after Ben was labelled "cheeky" by Carol for making a joke during her weather segment on Wednesday's episode. Carol had been presenting a serious forecast, warning viewers of heavy rain and strong winds, when Ben cracked a joke, reports .
She informed the audience: "Looks like we will have strong winds for some but across the Northwest we could have severe gales so that is something to watch out for, particularly if you're travelling or maybe camping for example but the position of it may yet change so that's one we're looking at closely so just wanted to give you a heads up."
Sally was eager to delve deeper as she questioned: "Carol, that is really useful to know. It's Wednesday today, how long will we have to wait for Sunday's forecast to be firmer? ".
Carol assured her it wouldn't be long, responding: "Just a day or two, Sal. With each passing day it becomes firmer. So it really is one we're watching so tomorrow we're hoping to have a better idea on where it is going to go."

The atmosphere took a playful turn when Ben couldn't resist teasing Carol. Commenting on the upcoming weather, Ben quipped to Carol: "And if you stay there does it not come because it's hidden behind you?"
A perplexed Carol gestured towards her dress and retorted: "What are you saying? You cheeky thing, Ben." The studio erupted with laughter as Sally jumped to her defence, exclaiming: "I'll be having words with him." Ben chimed in: "I'm in trouble."
